Episode 8 Spoilers

Welcome to HEEL CITY Y'ALL

As you probably noticed I didn't do one last episode, and the reason was that there wasn't much to say that I haven't already said. I'll talk about last episode elimination at the end but moving on to the new tiers. I order them by the idea that if you told me you came from the future and told me they won the season what my reaction be.

Top 2

Ashley & Alec: I am a firm believer that in this season early plays matter and should be REWARDED! I almost view this season through the lenses of a blow off PPV like Wrestlemania. We are building the story blocks that will be the foundation of the finale. These two got the best narrative. A girl who was an early boot 1st season and a man who got tricked out of the finale. Both have seem to learn from their first outing. Both run their respective teams and will be the faces of the FACE vs HEEL forces. No matter who wins between these two no one goes home feel the other didn't deserve the prize just as much as their favorite.

Backups

Aiden and Tess: They are in the ire of a fresh heel and are not in the most stable of standings in the game. But have focus and a good rival to feud with that could create some magic in the narrative. Jake v. Aiden & Tess v. Gabby. Jake gone heel and is being a brat, Aiden been putting up with it and seeing him retaliate will make good head vs head to see who stays and who goes. While Tess has a more philosophical feud with Gabby , she'll want to be friends and she probably not going to be able to stop an enrage Gabby with just words. Could be another fun match for survival.

Ok, but really? Jake - I know people like Jake I understand the appeal. I think the heel turn will be good for him. But he a brat! I don't like petty! Maybe that the reason you like him and I agree it going to be fun. But I'm backing Aiden any day of the week and not just because I'm bias because trans.

Grett_ I'm not opposed to it, could be fun seeing her rising over her terrible ex. But where the foundation? Where the focus? How does she turn this minor feud into a game winner? Yes I want her to destroy Yul but I don't think she the main eventer. She in the mid card not the blow out match. Maybe that because Yul doesn't make sense to me as the main event feud but that the lot for now.

Ally - she got something foundation wise, but like really? We wrote that Ally and Hunter fallout and looked at that and said yeah this is good opener to her rise to the top. No, no it isn't. She'll need much more in my opinion to take that prize.

Gabby- Look Gabby fans I get it, you been on crumbs for 7 episodes and now you all been present a feast. I'm happy for you. But those 7 episodes happened. She doesn't get to skate by on nothing and get rocketed to the moon. She going to have to work for it, should she flourish yes, but you got to address the fact the foundation not there before she gets that title shot.

Excuse me?!

Tom - Tom fans like do any you think he going to win the big one, like honestly? Like he playing nothing but himself. He got carried here by feud with Jake for drama points. He the face for the heels to chew up and spit out.

Riya - Doesn't feel like a finale villain.

Yul - X-PAC heat, aka GO AWAY HEAT

Eliminaitons

Ellie had this one coming, revival maybe, but since it heel city I think they'll bring back heroes not villains.

Fiore kind of lame elimination. Kind of felt she was just here on fame, she had some good moments but kind of a middling exit.

MEET MY SONIC OC, GEM!

Created as an ai backup of Shadow the Hedgehog in case the organic one didn’t work out, Gem spent most of his time as kind of a computer assistant to Professor Gerald Robotnik. All went well, until G.U.N’s attack on the ARK. Gem desperately attempted to aid Gerald as Shadow and Maria tried to find their own means of escape, however was helpless as he watched the doctor be taken into custody. He cursed himself, however kept moving forward to find where Shadow and Maria were. While exploring, he heard a gunshot and dashed from screen to screen to find Maria’s lifeless body and Shadows pod about to be dropped down into earth. He quickly transported himself into one of the pods many small screens, and made the journey with shadow to their new home.

After they landed, Gem went his separate way from Shadow, finding Ivory, a strange looking bat who seemed to be asleep. He decided to take him in, two cosmic space animals are better than one, right? Now, they go on their own adventures, occasionally tagging along with sonic and the gang.

Gem is a chaotic little dick, always acting recklessly and never thinking twice. Ivory usually serves as his moral compass.

Gems accents are blue.

His boots have tiny rockets in them that propel him forwards in the air, as well as a large slit in the sole that servers for creating small air currents for him to skate on above the ground. He can’t go high up in the sky, his boots only allowing him to lift up a couple centimeters into the air. He leans forward a lot more than shadow does when skating, and he moves his legs faster too.

His relationship with his organic brother is strange. He loves shadow like any brother would, but challenges him to fights daily for really no apparent reason.

With the help of a chaos emerald, he can have his own organic body! He likes the purple one mostly cause he thinks it looks good with his blue accents. He hides it in his chest fluff a lot.

Dumb Vocaloid Headcanons Part 1: Internet Co.

All

Andriods/robots of various levels of human resemblance

Voicebank upgrades correspond to hardware upgrades.

Primarily made for music, but they also have combat skills.

Each one has a unique music-related weapon/ability, which I'll elaborate on in another post. (I got this idea from the manga Megu Megu Singer Song Fighter. It's...an experience. Kinda chaotic, and the translation I found isn't always the clearest, but it's cute, harmless fun focused on the first few Internet Co. Vocaloids. If you want to see himbo Gackpo in a fundoshi, this is the manga for you.)

Generally get along well with the Cryptonloids

One huge, generally happy family

Camui Gackpo (Gackpoid)

The most robotic/android-like of the bunch in terms of physical structure, but good gosh, does he have feelings

His "bodysuit" is just what his body looks like (he can morph it into a more human-looking appearance, though), and that weird glowy spot on his chest is his power core.

A chivalrous gentleman, but he has his goofy moments

Boots with the rockets

The B.A.S.E. Jumper is a wonderfully designed weapon, giving you and your enemies a more interesting game experience. This isn’t that, but it’s kind of similar.

Rocket Boots Soldier secondary (+) While airborne: hold your jump key to hover midair for up to 5 seconds. [You keep any horizontal velocity you had when you activated the boots.] (+) +75% air strafe control while blast jumping (-) Cannot reactivate boots if deactivated before landing (-) No held weapon

If you choose to hover, you can skate around on the air, extending the distance covered by your rocket jump and gaining benefits from weapons like the Air Strike and Market Gardener. At the same time, you’ll be much easier to hit and will take mini-crits from opposing Direct Hit or Reserve Shooter users.

...Actually, that’s a pretty accurate description of the B.A.S.E. Jumper, too. Maneuverability and extended rocket jump bonuses versus being easier to hit. It’s just that the physics are different.

Not that that’s a bad thing! The B.A.S.E. Jumper is a wonderful item. It’s just that it already has that niche. Let’s move away a little.

Having a hovering option for the Scout is interesting, but how much use would it see? For one, you have to use your double-jump to be able to hover, so it’s not quite as intuitive as the rocket boots. For another, skating on air is fundamentally predictable, which is a very dangerous thing to be. The double-jump is so very powerful because it lets the Scout change directions instantly, but you can’t do that while hovering.

On the other hand, improving your mobility can be a great way to flank enemies from every corner of the map. And even if you can’t change direction very well midair, suddenly letting yourself fall can throw off opponents’ aim.

This is one of those ideas that I’m not really sure of, not because it’s a dull item, but because I’m worried about its possible utility. But sometimes, an interesting item that isn’t very strong is better than a dull-but-useful weapon.

Refs for the fem fortress designs I threw around in this post!! Because I am a big fan of woman and also a little bit insane abt this little idea

tldr for anyone who doesn’t want to check out the og post: I wanted to make a counterpart team to the og mercs that was all girls but also like. Vaguely genderbend-adjacent? Genderbending but cooler. Some of these characters resemble genderbends more than others but they’re all their own characters that exist somewhere within the universe (a couple are even canon characters because I think Zhanna Deserves a Gun!) why are they also a RED team? I don’t know! And I’m too tired to try and bullshit some canon-sounding excuse for it. The administrator wanted to fuck with the og mercs or smth for fun

I probably have more to say about them but I’ll save anyone reading this from what would probably end up being multiple paragraphs of personality and relationship descriptions ! Enjoy a bunch of women with traced weapons (bc you’re insane if you think I was gonna draw them freehanded)

Character Walk animation

For my walk animation I am following this tutorial here

Starting from this position, I used photoshop to erase the characters left leg and started drawing it out so it would be bent. After I finished I realized that I did the whole thing wrong and messed up dramatically.

I did the wrong leg. I knew I would make a mistake as I always have struggled with walking animation in pixel art. More commonly I just make the legs move up and down, for a character like this, I am unable to do this as the legs are more detailed than my previous work. To combat this I am playing with the idea of putting rockets on the characters feet that only appear when the character tries to walk.

Above is the character I drew but with the front leg bent forward slightly.

Above is a character named Astro Boy. what I had in mind at first but I figured that the feet turning to rockets didn't suit the characters style. Although I do really like the iron man style it has. It unfortunately doesn't work with what I had in mind.

After I looked at Astro Boy, I looked at Sojourn from Overwatch. I really like the style of this and think that having boosters attached to the calf of the robot would be amazing until I realize that they would be sliding while walking, the character would be in a walking position meaning that the boosters would push the character into the ground.

Above is inspector Gadget. A show about a robotic inspector with many gadgets attached to their body. Making them useful in most if not all situations. The character uses its gadgets to solve mysteries. What intrigued me into his character is the rocket shoes the character has that are attached to roller skates. I really really love this idea and want to include this into my character.

Above is my attempt at the rocket boots I made in Photoshop. This has taken me arounf 10 minutes of adjusting. I still don't like how they came out. To me they look more like flowers than rockets. I am going to try different variations until I find something I like.

Above is my rocket animation for my character. I made he character also crouch down and move his head down to resemble stability when the character is gliding. The only thing this causes is that the character would need a trail behind them.

the plan

“I need your help.”

The Shadow looks up at her with giant, surprised eyes. He’s eating by himself, a plate of mess in front of him and even more shoved into his mouth; cheeks fat with how much of a bite he’s scooped in. A noodle hangs limply out his lips as he continues to stare at her. Finally, he sucks it back in, chews, wipes his mouth with a napkin and then says, of all things, “Me?” with a finger pointed at his own chest.

“Are you fuckin’ with me?” Nomi snaps out, her hands clenching and unclenching around the strap to her laptop bag. It’s the only thing keeping her shoulders from shaking, staring at this man.

“What?”

“Yes, you.” The operator blinks again. He has big, pale blue eyes that would be pretty if they didn’t keep darting all over her in disbelief. His skin is pale too, not that Nomi has any room to judge, but in combination with the eyes, he looks so washed out. Especially against the black of his casual uniform. Like a little ghost. Nomi can’t tell if he’s handsome. Her brain had never categorized people that way before—and anyway, it doesn’t matter. “You’re one of Wolffe’s aren’t you?”

“Huh,” he leans back from the table a little. “When you pluralize it, should it be Wolvve’s?” She stares at him, trying to gage if he’s being serious, but he only smiles at her, like something he’d said was real clever.

“Are you mental?” When he goes to answer, Nomi shoots her hand off her bag and holds it up to cut him off. She ignores that her long, slim fingers are trembling. “Doesn’t matter. You’re one of his. So you’re not all bad, yeah?” His eyes skate back and forth, like he’s looking for someone to pop out and tell him he’s being filmed for an elaborate and confusing British prank show.

“Are other extraction units bad?”

“Tch, I think you’re proper perfect for what I need. Come with me.” She swivels around, shoulders hunched a little because having her back to him makes her immediately anxious. Her hands tighten back into her laptop bag’s strap and she’s walked a far bit before she glances over her shoulder and sees him still sitting. “Hello?” She points at him, then herself and he immediately rockets out the chair. Long legs carry him toward her and his face looks decidedly pleased.

“This is kinda weird,” Benny says. His name is Joseph, but he tells her very quickly no one calls him either Joseph, Joe or Joey. Ever. He’s preferred Benny since his Air Force days, which have long since passed, but he still clings to them a little. Nomi doesn’t necessarily like knowing details about him, because that makes him distractingly human. And even the way he’s sitting is so human.

She’d put him in her office chair, because she disliked how tall he was. He sits with his legs tucked slightly under the chair, toes dragging on the ground as he spins it back and forth like a little kid. He’s slouched, arms folded over the chair with his hands dangling in his lap. He stares at her with those ice blue eyes. Nomi thinks he needs a shower, or maybe his hair always looks so messed up.

She’d had to stop him from immediately trying to kiss her when they’d gotten to her office, because he apparently thought (for God knows what horrible reason) that she’d meant sex was what she needed help with. Typical and terrifying. But he’d backed off quick, let her shove him down into that chair and hadn’t gotten up since.

“But do you think it’ll work?” Nomi has one hand cupping her elbow, the other at her mouth as she gnaws down her thumbnail.

“Uh,” Benny swings the chair around again, the toes of his boots scratching across the tiled floor. He has to nudge himself, because the kinetic energy hadn’t actually pulled him into a three sixty. It’s a couple seconds until he’s facing her again. “Sure, but—people a-are going to think, hah, that we like, yunno.” His hands fold over his stomach and he raises and lowers his eyebrows at her a few times.

“Yes, that’s the point.”

“Well, we could—we could just actually, you know.”

“Absolutely not,” Nomi replies, her nose wrinkling. “But they should think we have, yeah. I watch the security cameras. People don’t—” She pauses, finds herself talking a little too much around this awkward, ghosty operator. Maybe he just looked so earnestly harmless for some reason. Sitting like that, looking up at her a little wounded like. Easy to forget what he looks like in all that tactical gear. Easy to forget those fidgeting hands were responsible for people’s lives ending. “They don’t try to bother Matilda—‘cause of Lark, yeah?”

“Well, sure. Lark’s scarier than me, though.”

“Exactly!” She points at him then, stepping forward. “Yes. You are—are—” Nomi tries to find a word for him that fits all this. His knees are close to hers as she stands there, looking at him. He’s got light blue veins in his wrists. They are oddly delicate looking. He is simply blue and white all over. “Well. I want to be the scary one, s’all. It’ll work?”

Benny gives her a big, twitchy smile.

“You fuckin’ daft loser!”

It’s loud enough to call attention to some Shadows down the hall. They swing their heads around, like they’re all part of some filthy hive mind. Connected by rotting, deep roots—attention called to the sound of a woman yelling.

“Aw, c’mon,” Benny is playing his part easily—might be natural for him, which makes her instantly a little too into her part too. Because he scares her. He’s tall and he’s hovering over her, a hand on the wall to trap her in. Which is how she’d posed him, how she’d asked him to be, but it didn’t stop the way her heart split open and screamed. “Don’t be like that.” He has an American accent—New York maybe, and it makes his words drawl in a strange way.

They have to have a bit of a back and forth then. Something for the other operators to watch and enjoy—little rumors have to spread about them. Benny had joked, so you want a Shadow boyfriend? And Nomi had told him, I want them to think I’m not fuckin’ worth the trouble. So when he slides a hand over her hip to try and badger her into attention, Nomi wraps fingers around his wrist. She feels a coil of dark, primal and real fear for a moment.

Hm, he’s got slim wrists, is a very strange thought that slinks across her frontal lobe as she moves. He’d let her practice a few times in her office, with maybe more enthusiasm than she would have liked. Useful, though, because this was proper fucking awkward. Nomi has never, in her entire life, handled another human being like this—but she spins him around. He assists, naturally, because even if he’s bird like, Nomi isn’t strong. She just has to look strong.

His body slams up against the wall and for a moment, Nomi is dazed. She’s got his arm tucked the way he’d told her too. Wrist wrenched till his knuckles are practically brushing between his shoulder blades. He has a tattoo that slinks from under his collar up his neck—she’d not noticed it before. It is dark against that skin that has never known real daylight. Her mouth is dry and she shoves harder, eliciting a strange noise from him.

“Stop fuckin’ botherin me, Benny—I will kill you.” She’s pulling something out of her in that moment. Something real that actually makes her drop his wrist. It’s red from how hard she’d been holding it, finger printed with her touch. Nomi is accessing something inside her brain that seems dust covered and untouched, small but with room for growth. His back heaves a little, breathing hard as his head tilts back over his shoulder to look at her. One ghost pale blue eye. I will kill you had felt so good to say—enough that it makes her hand slap over her mouth.

“Aw, Nomi, baby—” When he turns, the hand across her mouth slips off, comes up and arcs through the air.

Yeah, whatever, just pretend and I’ll move my head to the side. How hard could a fake slap really be?

The sound of her palm cracking against his cheek is thunderous in that long Shadow base hallway. Her hand flares in instant and white hot pain—she wants to howl with that feeling, but instead is rooted to the spot. The force of it had shoved Benny’s head to the side, his body half tilted with it, his eyes wide with peeled back eyelids. His white cheek is turning red, just like his wrist, indented with her touch.

Whatever else was supposed to follow is lost immediately as she swivels around. The group of Shadows are still staring at her. They are, unfortunately, in her way to the technicians department on base. They look like a group of weird, black seaweed stalks all grouped together like that, wavering in the current as she walks forward. Something inside Nomi is quivering, but when they step to the side, she passes by them without looking at any of their faces.

“Do you think it worked?” Benny’s ice pack is sitting on her palm, which she had cried over when she got back to her office. He’d held it and prodded at it with strangely experienced fingers before declaring nothing broken.

Not that I’m a medic, he’d joked, giving her palm a few squeezes. But, uh, p-people don’t usually break hands over slaps. Well, operators maybe. She’d never slapped anyone in her entire life. She’d never even punched anyone—which he’d immediately reminded her if she ever did, to not tuck her thumb into her fist. That—that’s a broken finger for you, he’d quipped, slipping his ice pack over her red, sore palm.
